AI Image Analysis

Know Instantly Whether a Field Photo Meets Your Brand Standard

Your auditor takes a photo. PULSE AI compares it against your reference image and returns a compliance score, a list of specific issues, and a recommended fix — in seconds. No manual review. No interpretation drift.

Why manual photo review doesn't scale

Once you pass a certain volume, manual review isn't slow — it's impossible.

You can't review every photo.

A team running 200 inspections per week generates thousands of photos. Manual review means sampling, which means misses. Some of those misses are a brand standard violation in 12 locations.

Standards drift because no one enforces them visually.

Inspectors know what compliant looks like in their head. Without a reference image enforced by AI, that standard drifts by site and by shift. Over time, 'good enough' replaces 'correct'.

'Looks fine' is not an audit trail.

A human saying a photo passes is not defensible when a regulator or brand auditor asks for proof. A scored, timestamped AI verdict is. One is an opinion. The other is evidence.

How it works

Three steps from reference image to compliance verdict.

01

Upload your brand standard

Attach a reference image to any photo question in your checklist. This is the benchmark every field photo is measured against. Store as many reference images as you have standards.

02

Field auditor submits their photo

On mobile, from any site. No special training required. The AI comparison runs automatically on submission — the auditor never needs to do anything different.

03

Instant verdict returned

Score (0–100), verdict (Compliant / Partial / Non-Compliant), specific issues found, positives noted, and a recommended corrective action — all returned within seconds of submission.

Common questions about AI image analysis

What types of photos can be analysed?

Any photo taken through the PULSE mobile app during an inspection. The AI compares it against the reference image set at the checklist question level. Photos of shelves, equipment, signage, food presentation, cleanliness — all supported.

How accurate is the AI verdict?

Accuracy depends on the quality of the reference image and the clarity of the field photo. In controlled conditions with clear reference images, accuracy exceeds 90%. The system also returns a confidence level alongside the verdict.

Can I set my own compliance threshold?

Yes. You define what score constitutes Compliant, Partial, and Non-Compliant for your operation. Defaults are 85+ for Compliant, 50–84 for Partial, and below 50 for Non-Compliant — all adjustable in settings.

Where are reference images stored?

Reference images are stored securely in your PULSE account, linked to the specific checklist question. They are accessible only to users with checklist admin permissions in your tenant.

What happens if an analysis fails?

If the AI call fails (network issue, image too dark, etc.), no credit is consumed. The submission is still recorded with the field photo — a human reviewer can assess it manually. You're never charged for a failed analysis.
